iMOBX Mobile PABX

"Mobility is the next technology force that is redefining how businesses operate. Going forward, the winners will be 'anywhere enterprises' that learn how to combine the Power of Mobility with broadband connectivity to create competitive advantage".

Business Mobility® Systems Approach

Today's business cards tell the story: one person, many phone numbers. But they don't speak to the wasted productivity, lost cycles and total cost of ownership that come with managing all of those numbers and devices across an enterprise. The BMS Mobile Convergence products enable enterprises to fully leverage their existing network infrastructure as well as their WLAN networks for enabling more efficient voice communication while drastically reducing the cost of mobile communication. This can be accomplished by offering its employees a true one number solution for their fixed line and mobile phones where the Mobile phone can either be connected via GSM or via WLAN while retaining the Enterprise PBX features. Besides Enterprises, Service Providers can use the BMS Mobile Convergence to enhance their offering by Voice Features and can thus become Virtual Mobile Operators. This would make special sense to pure ISPs, WISPs (Wireless Internet Service Providers) and IP Telephony Service Providers.

Solution Architecture

The Mobile Convergence system enables enterprises to deploy converged applications that now become seamlessly usable on their mobile devices. The BMS MC systems allow enterprises to make full use of dual mode phones (WLAN/WiFi - GSM/UTMS/CDMA) by enabling them to use their own wireless infrastructure for voice calls wherever possible. Besides using their own wireless infrastructure, the WLAN capabilities of the dual mode phones can be utilized anywhere in the range of an accessible Hotspot. The BMS MC systems enable static as well as dynamic handovers for making sure that the appropriate transport WLAN or GSM/UMTS/CDMA is being used. The BMS Mobile Convergence will also make sure that the media path is handled appropriately depending on where the dual mode phone is currently located (e.g. NAT handling for dual mode phone behind a Hotspot) The following picture shows the principal layout of this scenario.

Business Mobility® Hosted Cloud Approach

There is a major trend in todays business market. As VoIP has become more popular, many companies want to leverage its advantages. Smaller companies however often lack both the financial and technical resources. For those, Hosted VoIP is the solution to implement a modern telecommunication infrastructure with no CAPEX. In addition to that, the Pay-As-You Grow nature of these solutions provide them with the flexibility they need.

The Connectivity Challenge

This is where the implementation begins, and here things start to become a little more challenging. First, you must find an acceptable method for sending VoIP traffic through business firewalls, which can inhibit and even block VoIP packets due to their inherent security functions. Without a viable solution, VoIP calls remain essentially unsecured, subject to security breaches including snooping, denial of service attacks, and tapping. Moreover, unsecured IP telephony networks are vulnerable to packet flooding by hackers intent on causing service disruptions that vary in intensity from system crashes and throughput problems to system slowdowns and voice quality degradation.

Business Mobility® Hosted Advantages

The BMS Convergence series of products is the answer to those connectivity problems. The comprehensive SBC and security functions make bridging the different network boundaries easy. Advanced Security functions like TLS / SRTP termination, or VPN encryption enables the deployment of secure protocols across insecure links.

Survivability and QoS

In addition to solving the connectivity problem, the BMS Convergence enables us to implement customer site survivability functionality and advanced QoS functions like Call Admission Control. This enables us to fulfill even the toughest SLAs.

The local Survivability function enables our customers to keep their Voice Service operational even if the link to the data center is down. The BMS Convergence automatically detects the failure and takes over the role of the Hosted PBX until the service is restored. This process is totally seamless and no manual intervention is necessary.

Call Admission Control gives us the opportunity to limit the number of calls over the customer's Internet bottleneck link. This gives us the possibility to guarantee the quality of each and every Voice Call while also limiting the traffic dedicated to VoIP.
